Family members of Arielle Valdes, the missing North Fort Myers woman, confirmed she was found dead Monday afternoon.
Valdes left her home to go on a run the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 28. Traffic cameras spotted Valdes jogging towards the Edison Bridge that evening.
The 21-year-old’s family was handing out flyers at Terry Park along Palm Beach Boulevard over the weekend in hopes of some answers to her disappearance.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office intensified its investigation into Valdes’ disappearance over the weekend, including searching several areas with its electronic surveillance unit and drones.
