Caloosahatchee Bridge closures continue moving into phase two of the project starting Tuesday.
If you take the Caloosahatchee Bridge from North Fort Myers to get into Downtown Fort Myers every day, plan ahead.
Beginning at 9 a.m. the southbound loop ramp to get you to First Street will be closed off until 4 p.m.
As an alternative route, take the Edison Bridge. Daytime closures are set to last until the end of the month. Then the loop will be fully closed for another four weeks for sidewalk construction.
The Florida Department of Transportation will be delivering concrete, in order to create an eight-foot-wide sidewalk to make the bridge pedestrian-friendly.
FDOT says they are ahead of schedule.
