Deputies are continuing to search for a missing Golden Gate Estates man, Eduardo Ramirez, who was last known to be driving near Collier Boulevard and Magnolia Pond Circle on Thursday, Aug. 27. The 64-year-old veteran was reportedly last seen in that area around 6:15 p.m.
On Friday, investigators found the vehicle Ramirez was driving in a remote area off Beck Boulevard in East Naples, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office. Despite this discovery, there has been no sign of Ramirez himself, per local law enforcement.
"Eddie, we love you. We are searching, searching everywhere, and we will not stop. Don't give up on us, we will not give up on you. I promise," said Liset Garcia, one of Ramirez's sisters.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office has utilized aviation units, K-9s, and deputies on the ground in order to scour the area, focusing on the Picayune Strand State Forest.
"It's horrifying, and we just want to know what happened. We love our brother so much, and will do anything to bring him home," said Ysel Ramirez, another of Eduardo's sisters.
Ramirez is:
- 5 feet 6 inches tall
- Weighs around 180 pounds
- Has brown hair and brown eyes
- Is heavily tattooed, with two full sleeves on his arms
- Was wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored polo shirt.
Eddie, as he is known by his siblings, is the eldest of five, a married man, and an army veteran.
"It's devastating for all of us. I think he knows what he's doing out there, but he does have diabetes, and I fear that without his medication, he might be confused," Garcia said.
The Ramirez family is planning on searching for him in the Picayune Strand State Forest on Wednesday, Sept. 4. All in the community who are willing to assist in the search are encouraged to meet them at the intersection of Benfield and Beck streets in East Naples.
