Two teens were indicted in connection to the death of a 15-year-old Cape Coral girl.
Thomas Stein, 16, and Christopher Horne Jr. , 16, were indicted for first-degree murder for Kayla Rincon-Miller's death.
According to the State Attorney's Office, Stein and Horne were also indicted on three counts of attempted robbery possessing a firearm.
Rincon-Miller was killed near SE 20th Street and SE 16th Place in Cape Coral on the night of March 17.
Police say she was walking with two other girls from the Marquee Cinema to McDonald's before the shooting occurred.
Stein was the first of two teenagers arrested in connection to Rincon-Miller's murder, followed by Horne.
The State Attorney's Office said they will face adult sanctions and face the sanctions of a first-degree murder case.
Officials said they will seek the maximum sentence.
According to the State Attorney's Office, the maximum penalty they face with the new charges is life in prison.
The indictments read in part:
"On or about March 17, 2024, in Lee County, Florida, did unlawfully, from a premeditated design to effect the death of a human being, or while engaged in the perpetration of, or in the attempt to perpetrate a robbery with a deadly weapon, to wit: a firearm, kill and murder the victim, a human being, by actually possessing a firearm, and shooting her with a firearm, and during the commission of said offense caused the death of the victim."
