A Lee County felon was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison Wednesday for unlawfully possessing a loaded firearm.
According to court documents, on Sept. 15, 2023, Caleb Hamm was pulled over by a Lee County Sheriff's Office deputy after showing signs of driving impaired. He was arrested for DUI, and his vehicle was searched.
Deputies discovered a loaded handgun in the center console of Hamm's vehicle.
As a previously convicted felon, it is illegal for Hamm to possess a firearm or ammunition.
Hamm pleaded guilty on May 24.
