Hendry County deputies investigated a social media school threat that had a lot of parents concerned.
Investigators determined the school in question in the threat posted on Instagram for "LMS" is located in Georgia, not Florida. Some believed the school being mentioned was LaBelle Middle School.
According to the Hendry County Sheriff's Office, it was determined through confirmation of the IP address and conversations with law enforcement in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
HCSO received calls from concerned parents reporting the post. The post threatened a school shooting on Friday, Sept. 6.
The sheriff's office said they are in contact with the Hendry County School District as the investigation continues.
