New 911 calls show the terrifying moments after Naples police got reports of two people were struck by lightning last Saturday.
Naples police said officers responded to the scene along 12th Avenue South close to 6 p.m.
As they arrived, officers found a pack of people yelling and screaming that a few people had been struck by lighting down by the water.
911 operators received close to nine calls at once for the incident.
One caller told operators, "He's bleeding and everything, can't breathe, nobody can breathe," another said, "He's bleeding, he's purple, he's not breathing."
NPD says some witnesses were already doing CPR. One bystander was holding the subjects’ feet up in the air while the rest of us were rotating on doing CPR.
Police identified one of the victims of the lightning strike as 24-year-old Adrian Garcia Chile. His family told NBC2 he was on vacation with his family, who is from the Miami area.
Forty-three-year-old Maikel Rojas Bencomo also sustained minor injuries from the lightning strike.
Garcia Chile's family says they did not expect lightning to strike. They say Garcia Chile is in critical condition and are asking for the community to pray for a miracle recovery.
