A Collier County man is still wanted after failing to appear in court for jury selection in 2013 on charges of sexual battery on a child that happened three years prior.
Jean Leandre, 47, was initially arrested by Collier County detectives in October 2009, after being accused of raping and impregnating an 11-year-old girl.
Leandre is also accused of having sexual relations with the girl more than 10 times since the age of 6.
After posting a $200,000 bond, Leandre was released from jail while he awaited trial. Leandre was present at every court appearance until he disappeared on the second day of jury selection.
Leandre faces a life sentence for two counts of sexual battery on a child.
