Collier County officials are considering taking legal action to remove a floral mural that's on the side of an apartment building in Naples.
The item is on the agenda for Tuesday's meeting.
This fall, the brand new Ascent Naples Luxury Apartments building off US-41 and Davis Boulevard will be move-in ready, but that could change; commissioners want the developer to remove a mural that's on the side of the building or replace it with one approved by them, they've even considered preventing residents from moving in until it's done.
Developers decided to put the mural on the side of the building to cover the parking garage.
The county gave them approval to paint a geometric pattern mural, but the developer hired an artist to paint a flower mural instead.
County officials weren't impressed; they didn't like the design and wanted it removed.
