Friends, family and co-workers are mourning Eric Eiselman, the victim in Saturday's deadly crash on Winkler Road in Fort Myers.
The 44-year-old Fort Myers eye doctor worked at Eye Centers of Florida.
Eric Salazar, the regional business manager of the eye center, said Eiselman was an amazing doctor and an amazing mentor for him.
"I worked with him for 12 years," Salazar said. "I worked as his technician, then I became his lead technician, and eventually I became the regional business manager here. Our relationship was always excellent. He was like a big brother to me."
Florida Highway Patrol said he drove his golf cart on Winkler Road, overcorrected and hit a propane truck on the other side of the road.
Peter Rivera, Eiselman’s friend, said he always saw the good in the bad. He said this is a strong test of faith, and he is asking, "Why him?"
He said Eiselman's main goal in life was to have a family. He will be remembered by his beautiful wife, 2-year-old girl and 9-month-old boy.
"It was always 'I want to find a sweet girl that I will live with the rest of my life with and have children with,' so he succeeded," Rivera said.
The team at the eye center said Eiselman took his golf cart out often, and they said he is a great driver.
Salazar and Rivera said he was loved by many, and he will be missed greatly.
