A search was suspended Sunday night due to visibility after a boater went missing off the coast of Sanibel.
The Cape Coral Fire Department says they don't know if and when search efforts will resume on Monday morning.
Multiple agencies spent the better part of Sunday searching for a missing boater off the coast of Sanibel.
The call came from the U.S. Coast Guard around 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning about the missing boater.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Lee County Sherriff's Office, Sanibel Police Department and Cape Coral Fire Department all responded to the scene, searching the water.
NBC2 also knows Cape Coral Fire sent out their dive team.
Despite having the initial coordinates from the boat, there was still no luck finding the man.
"We jumped on to the bottom from there and went out and started searching for this missing boater," Cape Coral Fire Battalion Chief Eric Hawkins said.
NBC2 is still working to find out who exactly the man is, and if search efforts will resume on Monday morning.
Cape Coral police is taking the lead on the investigation.
