Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection to an armed robbery that happened on Sept. 1 at a Papa John's in Fort Myers.
Shadarien Lamar Ward, 22, was taken into custody with the combined efforts of the Fort Myers Police Department, United States Marshals and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
The robbery occurred at the Papa John's at 3412 Cleveland Avenue , where the suspect was caught on camera brandishing a gun and pistol-whipping an employee before taking money and leaving the store.
According to FMPD, the case was taken on by ATF due to the violent nature and other aggravating associated with Ward.
FMPD said Ward was arrested on Tuesday and will be transferred to federal custody.
