A LaBelle man was arrested after leading state troopers on a high-speed chase at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
Eddie Deleon, 45, was arrested on Wednesday after leading deputies on a chase on SR-29.
Deputies say they attempted to stop Deleon around 11:15 p.m. when he sped away at speeds of more than 100 mph.
Troopers performed a pit maneuver on the car near the roundabout at SR-29 and SR-82.
According to reports, the driver then ran away on foot. Troopers chased Deleon for approximately a quarter mile before catching him.
Deleon was arrested and is facing charges of:
- One ne count of fleeing and eluding
- One count of reckless driving
- One count of traffic violation
- One count of obstruction of an officer
- One out of county warrant for possession of paraphernalia
Deleon is in the Collier County Jail.
