A teen was arrested on Thursday after doing "donuts" in the Daybreak market parking lot in Cape Coral.
People who go to car meets there said they're happy investigators found the driver.
"I'm glad he got caught. I'm glad he is being disciplined because he gives everyone else in the car community a terrible name and gives a bad impression to the rest of the community," said Mandie Rainwater.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Adrian Sean Dixon, 19, was driving a blue BMW around 11 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Pine Island Road and Chiquita Boulevard.
Dixon is accused of purposefully accelerating and turning in a circular motion doing "donuts."
FHP says the incident was caught by security cameras and witnesses using their phones.
"We don't want those people here. We just want to come here and enjoy cars and talk with each other," said Jason Trewartha.
Dixon was arrested during a traffic stop near his home in Lehigh Acres.
He was arrested for reckless driving, racing, and petit theft for stealing a bottle of tea.
"We shop at the places that we meet and we want to make it so that we're not too inconvenient, especially when we're invited and things like that. So to steal from someone who gives us a space to hang out, come on," Rainwater said.
