Babcock Ranch High School in August 2022. Just two years later, the Trailblazers' athletic department is starting to grow. This season, they fielded their first ever 8-man football team. For many of the players, this is the first time they have ever played competitive football.
On Friday night, Babcock Ranch opened its new 23-acre William and Mary Ann Smith Sports Complex. The area includes a softball field, baseball field, turf soccer field, skate park, and a football stadium. The Trailblazers opened the complex in the best way possible - a high school football game under the lights.
Babcock Ranch hosted Oasis Christian on Friday. After starting the season 0-3, the Trailblazers were looking for their first ever win. They didn't want to disappoint their home fans. After a slow start, Babcock stormed back in the second half to take down Oasis Christian 28-20. The victory was the football program's first ever.
