The stepmother of kids injured after a crash along I-75 in Collier County early Saturday spoke with NBC2 on Monday.
The victim's stepmother said three of the kids involved are her boyfriend's sons, one is his cousin and the girl was a girlfriend of one of his sons.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 6:22 a.m., an 18-year-old man driving a sedan was heading south on I-75 near mile marker 110 in the center lane.
The release states the driver attempted to change lanes and lost control before crashing into a tree. FHP says the crash broke the car into two pieces.
The driver, Jefry Garcia Ramos, 18, and two 19-year-old men, Luis Garcia and Yony Garcia, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Karla Tol Martin, 21, was later pronounced dead, and 16-year-old Jefry Garciais still in critical condition.
The stepmother said the group was on their way to work in Marco Island on Saturday morning.
The victims are from Guatemala, and the family said their main priority is raising money to fund sending their bodies back to their home country.
The GoFundMe is titled as, "In Loving Memory of Them. Support for Their Funeral Costs."
The 16-year-old boy is in critical condition at the Gulf Coast Hospital in south Fort Myers. According to the stepmother, the doctor is "not very hopeful," though they are performing another surgery on Monday.
Reports say he suffered severe injuries to his stomach and below.
