An Arcadia man and woman were arrested after being accused of trafficking drugs nearly 300 feet away from a school.
According to the Arcadia Police Department, their detectives received information on the whereabouts of Jamie Prusinski, 42, who had an active warrant out of DeSoto County.
Police searched a property and found Prusinski, along with Tyler Carlan, 32, inside a shed behind a house.
Police say that the house was approximately 300 feet away from a school.
Once police found the two, they went inside the shed, where they said they found drug-related items.
Deputies conducted a search warrant. Reports state they found:
- 17.8 grams of methamphetamine
- 0.5 grams of cocaine
- 2.4 additional grams of methamphetamine
- Ecstasy
- 6.9 grams of marijuana
- Drug paraphernalia
Pruskinski and Carlan were arrested and face charges of trafficking amphetamines, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting without violence.
“I would like to recognize our CID unit for their swift action on the tip received. I’d also like to use this as a reminder to those who divulge in narcotic activity within this city - if you are in possession of any amount you will be held accountable. Our agency has zero tolerance for these individuals who chose to pedal in this poison near our school,” said Arcadia Marshal Quinn Jones.
