Richard Vallini, 20, was everything to his lifelong friend Dominick Giaquinto and everything to his family.
Giaquinto said he was the most stand-up person he's ever met.
"He was my acquaintance growing up, but our high school phase was when we really kind of got that bond and Richie was just one of those guys," Giaquinto said.
Vallini was killed on Aug. 4 after a tire he was filling at A-Expert Tires exploded. A witness said the tire came off the rim and hit Vallini in the head. Dom said he was relatively new to the job.
"I believe Richie worked there for around a week, maybe a little bit less," Giaquinto.
But he said he worked hard at everything he did.
His family filed a lawsuit against the company on Sept. 4.
Leland Garvin with Garvin Injury Law is not a lawyer on the case, but he said the family is asking for money for their own pain and suffering.
"So essentially, his mom and dad's loss of their child is unimaginable," Garvin said. "As someone who has a young child, I'm looking at the time, affection, attention that I'm putting into a young child to have someone that reaches an older age. That's a large claim versus the claim that's capped in worker's compensation."
The lawsuit said he was a business invitee, meaning he would not be an employee.
"Courts in this case are going to be asked on one side to decide that the person who was killed was an employee," Garvin said. "On the other side, they're going to be asked to consider him an invitee or a licensee who came on the property for his own business."
Now Giaquinto and his family are doing everything they can to keep Vallini's memory alive.
"I think his message would be just the classic live your life to the fullest," he said.
