A man is facing charges accused of stealing and destroying items at a local mini golf course.
Lee County Sheriff's Office said it happened at the Smuggler's Cove Adventure Golf off San Carlos Boulevard. Deputies say 38-year-old Francisco Fortin Mayorga, who was booked into the Lee County Jail last Friday, stole two boxes of ice cream bars, coupon envelopes, cups and a sign.
Deputies say surveillance video also shows Mayorga walking around the business damaging several items, including a napkin dispenser, a wooden gate, and removing a fire extinguisher to bust a door open.
Body-worn cameras show deputies talking to the suspect, who was sweating and was only wearing his underwear.
When deputies asked if Mayorga was alone, Mayorga replied saying, "Nothing," to deputies.
Mayorga is in custody facing several charges, including burglary to an unoccupied structure, grand theft, petty theft, and criminal mischief. He was also charged with giving a false ID to a deputy.
