Chiquita Boulevard and Embers Parkway is an extremely busy intersection, which is also known for many crashes.
Residents are pleading for a light to be installed at the intersection, and NBC2 took their questions and concerns to the city.
City leaders say change is coming, but it may be a while.
"There's four stop signs that everybody looks at each other and when they decide to go like, who's first? You know, there's a lot of accidents at that right there," Cape Coral resident Terri Gavin said.
Gavin is right about the crashes. Over the past three years, there has been at least 7o reported crashes at the intersection.
Other residents took their concerns to city council on Wednesday, asking when a light will be installed.
The city tells NBC2 that a signal at Chiquita Blvd and Embers Pkwy is in the design phase. They anticipate it will go to bid for construction sometime next year.
"It's really hard to get out of our neighborhood. There's just so much traffic, and it seems like the cars come across Embers Parkway so fast that it doesn't really give you an opportunity to even get out," Cape Coral resident Margaret Wear said.
The city hasn't said how long the process will take at this time.
