The Fort Myers Fire Department says a power line went down near the Edison and Ford Winter Estates on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers on Saturday.
Areas along Virginia Avenue and McGregor Boulevard were temporarily blocked.
Crews worked to restore power. FPL, Fort Myers Fire, and Fort Myers police were at the scene.
NBC2 viewers say their condos and apartments were affected in the area.
"It reminds me of Katrina back in New York, it was like three weeks of no power, it gives you that little unsettling feeling, but it looks like they got things handled here. They already have some of the Florida Power and Light trucks rolling in, so I guarantee you they’re going to get this up and running," Isaiah Torres told NBC2.
