Authorities are searching for a person of interest in connection to the theft of two Apple iPhone 16 Pros from a home in south Fort Myers and another two iPhone 16s from a home down the roads.
"It's uneasy. It's unsettling when someone's coming to your front door and taking something so close," said Kristen Kruithof, who had her iPhones stolen.
The thefts happened in the area of Palomino Lane and Fiddlesticks Boulevard on Friday, between 12:20 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
"I checked the emails and they told me that Fedex delivered it and they kind of put it far off to the side, like far away from our ring camera, so it didn't pick it up, which is a little suspicious in itself, and they were gone," said Kruithof.
The stolen phones are valued at approximately $1,100 each.
According to investigators, the unknown person was seen getting into the passenger side of a gray Nissan Altima or similar vehicle.
"He may be following the Fedex truck from house to house and as he's seeing these smaller packages dropped off, they have a chance to go out and get them or come home from work, he's scooping them up," said Trish Routte with SWFL Crime stoppers.
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information to call 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to an arrest.
