Governor Ron DeSantis held a news conference at 9:30 a.m. in Tampa ahead of the soon-to-be Hurricane Helene.
DeSantis was at TECO Energy East Hillsborough in Tampa.
The governor has activated fuel contracts to have tankers on standby for fuel delivery across the state as soon as the threat passes.
DeSantis was joined by Attorney General Ashley Moody and Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie.
