Residents in Downtown Fort Myers are being moved from their first-floor homes as the storm surge from Hurricane Helene floods the area.
This is happening near Evans Street and Providence Street, just down the road from the Edison Bridge, which is closed due to flooding.
Residents said they're being moved upstairs for safety reasons.
Olivia Limonz said floodwaters are almost up to the apartment complex and has seen dumpsters, trash cans and road signs floating away.
Limonz said people who didn't move their cars ahead of the storm are now trying to move them out of the floodwaters.
