Roads across Southwest Florida are beginning to see the impacts of Hurricane Helene.
See the list below to see which counties are being impacted.
Charlotte County:
- Punta Gorda
- We have started seeing standing water in some roadways. The following are closed at this time:
- Wood Street between Marion and Olympia
- Tayor Road and W. Retta Esplanade
- MLK between Marion and Olympia
- Chasteen Street
- Berry Street
- Residents are urged to obey all road closure signs and barricades. Standing water can lead to life-threatening consequences, according to the Punta Gorda Police Department.
Lee County:
- Fort Myers
- Traffic signals are inoperable at Summerlin Road and Colonial Boulevard.
- Traffic signals are inoperable at Summerlin Road and Barkley Circle.
- Traffic signals are inoperable at Summerlin Road and Royal Palm Square Boulevard.
- The Fort Myers Police Department states that units are assisting and the Department of Transportations is aware.
- Cape Coral
- Coronado Parkway & Cape Coral Parkway are closed due to flooding
