Water is rapidly rising in the area of Times Square and Matanzas Pass Bridge on Fort Myers Beach.
According to LCSO, water is rising at the base of the Matanzas Pass Bridge.
Water is also reportedly starting to enter several areas of Hickory Island.
LCSO asks that you avoid these areas.
The flooding along Estero Boulevard and side streets is beginning to increase significantly. The Town of Fort Myers Beach asks residents to shelter in place and only travel if absolutely necessary.
The Fort Myers Beach Fire District says due to conditions on Estero Island, they are currently shut down for emergency runs. FMBFD asks that you continue to call 911 and report your emergency and they will respond as soon as they can.
