A sand drop-off is open near Englewood Beach at Chadwick Park from dawn to dusk on Saturday.
According to a press release, the site at 2100 N. Beach Road is for flood-deposited sand and slit left by Hurricane Helene.
Removing sand from your home and taking it to a sand drop-off site saves it from going to a landfill.
It will be screened and cleaned to make sure garbage and nails are removed so it can be used for storm recovery projects.
Charlotte County asks residents to not put the sand on the beach as this could result in a fine.
The release asks for contractors cleaning up homes to take sand to the drop off site.
You can also empty sandbags at the site but do not leave empty or full bags at the site.
