Fort Myers and North Fort Myers meet yearly on the football field for Lee County's oldest running rivalry. The series dates all the way back to 1967. This Friday marked the 57th edition of the Battle of the Caloosahatchee.
North Fort Myers came out of the gates hot, taking a 26-7 lead into the half. However, the Fort Myers fought back in the second to make it just a three point game mid-way through the fourth quarter. The Green Wave tried to complete the comeback, but thanks to some big time plays from the Red Knights' defense, NFM reclaimed the river and the rivalry.
