Improvements are underway at Jaycee Park Monday morning, and things are going to start being removed.
The picnic tables that sit along the Caloosahatchee River, trash cans, signs, and memorial benches are all going to be taken away.
According to the City of Cape Coral, they have reached out to people associated with the memorial benches and will handle it based on their wishes.
City staff says they will safely store all other items and figure out what to do with them in the future.
The park will remain open.
