The Naples Police Department is working to crack down on traffic safety after launching "Operation Safe Streets" in August.
NPD began the operation in August and they say it will continue through March 2025.
The focus of the operation will be to improve driver education, driver safety and enforcement.
Hot spot locations have been identified throughout the City of Naples associated with:
- Traffic lights/stop signs
- Speed
- Congested/blocked intersections
- School zones
- Neighborhood safety concerns
- Bicycle safety
Thus far, statistical results show the following from August 1 through September 29:
- Total crashes: 121
- Total traffic stops: 2,264
- Total warnings: 1,334
- Total citations: 675
