Collier County deputies arrested two woman after they say they found fentanyl in their car during a traffic stop.
Nora Colleen Weissenborn, 44, and Mary Francis Marks, 44, are facing drug related charges after being arrested on Tuesday evening.
Around 8 p.m., deputies say they pulled over the driver after she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Bayshore Drive and Holly Avenue and continued to drive erratically on Bayshore Dr.
Weissenborn was identified as the driver, and Marks was the passenger in the car, according to reports.
Deputies say both women are convicted felons from Naples, and they were being confrontational with deputies while ignoring their commands.
CCSO says Marks got out of the car after deputies told her to stay inside, and she reached under the car. Deputies searched the car and found a crack pipe, per reports.
While searching the car, deputies say they found a bag containing fentanyl on the driver side floorboard.
The two women were arrested. Weissenborn is facing charges of fentanyl possession and resisting arrest. Marks is facing charges of obstruction and possession of narcotic equipment.
“Thanks to excellent proactive patrolling our deputies prevented the lethal opioid fentanyl from entering Collier County,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said.
