A retired K-9 with a remarkable career as a Charlotte County Sheriff's Office member has died.
The K-9 named Scar started with CCSO on May 17, 2017. CCSO said in a Facebook post that Scar was easily identified by his giant smile and long tongue.
Scar was paired with Corporal Steven Sella, and he described Scar as the most loyal and patient dog, according to CCSO.
CCSO said Scar notably helped with a big bust in October 2018. His keen nose led to deputies discovering over $190,000 in drugs and cash.
