Heavy rainfall brought on by Wednesday's thunderstorms has caused flooding in Port Charlotte and adjacent areas, Charlotte County officials said.
According to the Charlotte County government, a lot of standing water caused more flooding.
The Midway Boulevard area off Kings Highway was flooded on both sides of the road. The flooding was spotted in the area of Port Charlotte Middle School.
Officials said Aquilos Court was also flooded.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office advised drivers to use caution near Harbor Blvd., Midway Blvd. and the entire length of Beacon Drive in Port Charlotte.
The CCSO said the areas were impassable due to flooding.
Drivers were warned not to drive through any standing water. The CCSO said more areas in Port Charlotte are likely affected by the weather.
According to CCSO, there are likely more areas in Port Charlotte that were affected by the weather.
