Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a State of Emergency for 35 Florida counties, including Lee, Collier, Charlotte, DeSoto and Glades counties, as the state braces for the potential impact of Tropical Storm Milton.
Tropical Storm Milton is expected to form into a hurricane before making landfall somewhere along the west coast of Florida by midweek.
Maximum sustained winds are estimated to be 40 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.
