Bonita Springs and Gateway entered Week 7 of the high school football seasons in similar situations. They both have first year head coaches and they both were hungry for a win. The Bullsharks entered Friday night with just one tally in the win column this year, while the Eagles had none.
That hunger provided an entertaining game. Both teams had some highlight plays offensively and defensively. Bonita Springs held a four point lead into the waning moments of the fourth quarter. However, that lead would disappear with just 13 seconds remaining when Gateway senior Justin Jean Louis played the hero and took a quick screen pass 65 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. The heroic play secured the Eagles their first win of the season.
