South Trail Fire and Rescue helped evacuate 13 nursing home residents on Tuesday.
While the nursing home was in the middle of their evacuation, the elevator in the building malfunctioned leaving some residents without a safe way down.
The staff at the home called South Trail Fire and Rescue to save the day. Crews from Station 61 arrived and carried the remaining patients down the stairs with a stair chair.
And as if things couldn't get any worse, the wheelchair ramp for the evacuation bus stopped working.
Lucky for them, the firefighters were there to lend a hand, lifting the 13 residents onto the bus and their seats.
