FEMA administrator gives update briefing in Punta Gorda after Hurricane Milton

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. —

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell hosted a press briefing with an update on the federal and local efforts responding to Hurricane Milton and the ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene.

Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key as a Category 3 hurricane. The storm brought storm surge to most of Florida's west coast, and deadly tornadoes across the state.
