A tornado ripped through a few Lee County communities, including Pine Lakes in North Fort Myers - where families will be cleaning up for quite some time.
One of the most shocking images from the tornados was along Bermuda Court, where a home was left upside down.
The tornado continued to run through Turnberry Isles Court where another home was left unrecognizable.
The garage was caved in and the roof flew away. Roofing material covered the entire front lawn.
Neighbors tell NBC2 they heard what sounded like an explosion and it last just seconds.
North Fort Myers resident Darlene Sonowski says she didn't even realize what had happened until she stepped outside.
"He yells at me, Dar, get away from the windows! And I go but this interesting to watch. I didn't realize and then after coming out and seeing all the damage, all the police I said this must've been a tornado," Sonowski said.
Some neighbors are rolling up their sleeves and getting to work cleaning up, but the hope is for FEMA officials to show up soon and offer some help.
