Forecast: A Few PM Showers Sunday

We're off to another fairly comfortable start across southwest Florida this morning. Temperatures are running close to average for most, with sunrise temperatures settling into the lower 70s and upper 60s. Under partly cloudy skies we'll watch those temperatures climb steadily through the morning, reaching highs in the middle and upper 80s by the afternoon. It will be slightly more humid today as well, though a steady northeast breeze around 10 mph will help to keep things feeling pretty comfortable.

With tropical moisture nosing back into the area from the south, there will be a few areas of rain to at times today. After a few sprinkles wash through this morning, we'll be tracking spotty downpours as we head into the afternoon and evening. Rain should be rather isolated and coverage, and mainly focused on areas south of the Caloosahatchee.

Drier air will gradually surge into the area in the coming days, particularly in the wake of a cold front that moves into the area Tuesday into Wednesday. Not only will that mean a noticeable drop in humidity, but it will also help to drop our rain chances, with little-to-no rain expected through the entirety of the work week.

Tracking the Tropics:

Since Leslie dissipated yesterday, there are currently no active storms across the Atlantic Basin. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a disturbance in the eastern Atlantic. This has a low chance to develop in the coming days as it drifts generally westward towards the Caribbean, arriving there by the tail end of next week.

There are currently no immediate threats to Florida. Hurricane Season will come to an end at the end of November.
