The City of Sanibel Public Works crews are working to open beach parking lots on the island following the impacts of Hurricane Milton.
The city says Gulfside City Park (Algiers) and Bowmans Beach Park are now open.
Residents are asked to use caution while walking the beach as debris may be buries in sand. Residents are also encouraged to stay advised of beach water quality.
The following parking lots remain closed as crews work to remove sand and debris:
- Lighthouse Beach Parking lots (Bayside and Gulfside)
- Tarpon Bay Road Beach (Trost parking lot)
- Blind Pass parking lot
- Turner Beach parking lot
The city will provide notice to the public as more beach parking lots open.
