Lee County saw damage from tornadoes, with multiples popping up in the area of North Fort Myers and Fort Myers.
"I saw a piece of gutter blow off the front of the house, and I looked at my kitchen window from the chair, and it looked like the Wizard of Oz stuff was just flying," said Fort Myers resident Russell Licciardelli.
Licciardelli and his wife say they were spared from the damage their neighbors saw to their homes on Oakley Avenue after a tornado got too close for comfort.
The people living across the street from them had their roof caved in.
The city is reminding you to separate the branches and trees from the furniture.
"We're starting with the major corridors, which are Colonial, MacGregor, Palm Beach, MLK, the main corridors. They're going to be cleared first, and then we start moving into the neighborhoods," said Councilman Liston Bochette.
Contractors have been out since Monday and they will send out city trucks to help with the cleanup as well.
City staff remind people not to put any of their debris in bags.
