Week after week, Riverdale's run game was on fire. The Raiders were 6-0 and the last unbeaten team in Southwest Florida heading into the week nine showdown with Cape Coral.
Meanwhile, after picking up just one loss on the season - a 7-0 week one game against North Fort Myers - the Seahawks have been cruising.
The first half was a slow one, with Riverdale leading 6-0 at the break. Cole Hayes had scored an 11-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Coming out of the break, the Seahawks flipped the switch. The offense got things going quickly, scoring a touchdown just over one minute into the third quarter, while the defense locked in. A 55-yard scoop-n-score gave Cape its first lead of the night and it never looked back. Averaging 41.8 points per game through six games, Cape Coral held Riverdale to a season low six points.
FINAL: Cape Coral 13, Riverdale 6.
