An Arcadia felon was arrested on drug and gun related charges after detectives conducted a search warrant on Wednesday.
Wilford Lee Smith Jr., 43, is reported to be an 18-time convicted felon who had two active warrants related to illegal narcotics sales.
DeSoto County detectives say they saw Smith driving near his home on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Detectives say once they approached Smith they immediately noticed marijuana in plain sight in his home and car.
A search warrant was conducted which reports say revealed over 64 grams of marijuana, 296 baggies labeled for distribution and multiple firearms.
According to reports, one firearm was reported stolen from Highlands County.
As a convicted felon, Smith is not allowed to possess a firearm or ammunition.
Detectives arrested Smith and took him to the DeSoto County Jail where reports say he is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon
- Sale or delivery of marijuana
- Manufacture of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of marijuana over 20 grams
