NBC2 is working to learn more after Collier County Public Schools say a student died.
According to an email sent out by the school's principal, the student's family announced the passing on Tuesday.
At this time, CCPS has not released the name of the school, the child's name or grade.
Members of the District Crisis Team and school counselors will be available to help students impacted by the loss.
In a statement from CCPS, all Collier County Public Schools have emergency response teams, composed of staff who are trained to deal with emergency situations.
The district says all school sites have multiple devices to assist staff, students and visitors in the event of an emergency.
The principal says they will be sharing the information with students during their morning news segment. The school will also hold a moment of silence.
