The United States Coast Guard is continuing search efforts after a 66-year-old woman fell overboard from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship off The Bahamas.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the woman fell overboard on Tuesday around 9:40 p.m. when the ship was nearly 20 miles north of Nassau.
The Royal Bahamas Defense Force is the lead agency for the search, but the U.S. Coast Guard reportedly sent an HC-144 airplane crew and an MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter crew from Miami.
The identity of the woman who fell overboard has not been shared at this time and neither the cruise line operator or the Coast Guard know how she went overboard.
The cruise ship was set to dock in Nassau on Tuesday before moving to Coco Cay on Wednesday. According to the cruise itinerary, the ship is scheduled to arrive back in Miami on Friday.
It is unclear at this time if the incident will impact the ship's schedule.
