The US Coast Guard announced they are suspending their search for the 66-year-old woman who fell overboard from a Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas cruise near the Bahamas.
The Coast Guard aided the Royal Bahamas Defense Force in the search for the woman who fell from the Taylor Swift-themed ship around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
Officials say the woman went overboard approximately 17 miles north of Nassau.
The U.S. Coast Guard sent an HC-144 airplane crew and an MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter crew from Miami to aid in the search.
A Royal Caribbean spokesperson said that search-and-rescue operations were immediately launched and that they worked with local authorities.
"We are also providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time," the spokesperson said in a statement. "To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share."
The ship left Miami with a few hundred "Swifties" as part of a fan-led cruise group named "in my cruise era."
A trio of travel agents, Jessica Malerman, Nicole Rivera and Shelby Reyes, all work for Marvelous Mouse Travels who coordinated with Royal Caribbean to host private events focused on Swift's Era Tour.
At this time, it is unclear if the woman who went overboard was part of the group.
According to the cruise itinerary, the ship is scheduled to arrive back in Miami on Friday.
