There were plenty of games all across Southwest Florida that had playoff implications on Friday night. However, no matchup was bigger than No. 3 Port Charlotte traveling to No. 2 Naples. The Golden Eagles knocked the Pirates out of the playoffs the last two straight seasons. So, Port Charlotte was out for revenge under the lights.
Naples opened the scoring thanks to a James Lachance touchdown. After that, it became the Logan Flaherty show. The Port Charlotte quarterback took over with his feet and arm, contributing multiple TDs in the first half. This one came down to the wire, but it was ultimately the Pirates who held on to the win to claim the district title and an automatic bid to the playoffs.
