Police are searching for an SUV in connection to a homicide that Fort Myers police say stemmed from a hit-and-run crash along Colonial Boulevard and Ortiz Avenue Sunday night.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department, the incident happened along Colonial Boulevard near Ortiz Avenue around 9:50 p.m., and a suspect is still on the loose.
Detectives are looking for a 2004 Saturn SUV with a Florida tag, numbered CE50MX, in connection to the homicide.
The SUV is a matte or flat black color with distinct stickers on the rear driver and passenger sides. The car has distinct wheels, a trailer hitch with a ball and damage to the bumper area, according to reports.
One person was killed and investigations caused traffic backups along Colonial Blvd and Ortiz Ave as two westbound lanes were blocked off.
NBC2 crews were on the scene and saw investigators looking at a gray Sentra sedan on the side of the road.

Detectives ask that if you know the car's whereabouts, do not approach. Instead, contact law enforcement.
