Two teens were set to appear in court on Tuesday after Hendry County deputies say they were the ones who pulled the trigger, shooting and killing Ja'yhanna Johnson nearly three weeks ago.
The suspects, Jayden Lawson and Roosevelt Adderly III, both are just 15 years old. Addlery is Ja'yhanna's cousin.
The arraignment was rolled to November 12 at 9 a.m. The families of both suspects declined to comment to NBC2.
According to the Hendry County Sheriff's Office, both Adderly and Lawson were "known gang members" and were waiting for a rival gang, who they thought they spotted before opening fire.
Instead, the teens ended up striking and killing Ja'yhanna, who was found with a gunshot wound in the back of her head.
Adderly was there when NBC2 spoke with Ja'yhanna's family just days before he was arrested for his alleged role.
Both teens are now facing second-degree homicide. Adderly and Lawson are being held in juvenile detention for the time being.
