Traffic on Cape Coral Parkway is no surprise, and the city wants to expand the road to help make your commute smoother.
Before any expansion happens, a study needs to be done. City Council is expected to approve that study on Wednesday to get the ball rolling.
The city wants the road to go from four to six lanes between Coronado Pkwy and Del Prado Boulevard.
Before work even starts, the city says they need to retime the lights along Cape Coral Pkwy.
Those signals haven't been adjusted in seven years.
The city also needs to figure out how to keep parking in the downtown area since the idea is to take over the parking lanes along Cape Coral Pkwy.
Cape Coral city leaders are expected to move forward with this study on Wednesday. The meeting is set for 4:30 p.m.
